a) Job Purpose
The job holder will be responsible for managing and maximizing the revenue generated from commercial activities within airports, overseeing retail operations, concessions, and commercial spaces to enhance the overall passenger experience and optimize revenue streams that will ensure the Authority meets its commercial revenue targets.

b) Key Duties and Responsibilities
i. Developing and implementing Airports’ commercial retail business plans to achieve set objectives;
ii. Researching, developing and implementing an optimal retail and concession plan that achieves revenue and customer objectives;
iii. Researching and analyzing airport clientele preferences in retail to ensure that all customer requirements are catered for in the retail plan;
iv. Developing and implementing an airside and landside retail mix and ensure a retail portfolio that meets customer needs;
v. Implementing and monitoring revenue performance of concessions;
vi. Updating and reviewing the KAA concession order;
vii. Researching and benchmarking in all aspects KAA commercial revenue plan with other international airports;
viii. Maintaining a retail directory to ensure that all licenses are upto date;
ix. Developing and monitoring service level agreements with retailers and concessionaires to ensure service delivery in line with set standards; and
x. Providing leadership to the Marketing and Business Development team working in commercial retail and concessions.

c) Key Qualifications and Experience
i. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or a related field from a recognized institution of higher learning
ii. Master’s degree is desirable
iii. Minimum period of eight (8) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which must be in a supervisory position
iv. Relevant Diploma & Professional qualification in Marketing and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK), Member of the Institute of Customer Experience (ICX) Kenya and Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) or equivalent
v. Professional qualification in marketing
vi. Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
vii. Proficiency in computer applications

d) Skills and Competencies
Teamwork, good communication, interpersonal, supervisory and analytical skills

Terms and Conditions of Service
Permanent and pensionable terms as per the provisions of the Authority’s Human Resource Policy and Procedures Manual.

(iv) Clearance from the Ethics & Anti-corruption Authority (EACC)
(v) Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

The clearance certificates should be valid and current. The self-declaration Form from EACC should indicate the respective position that is being applied for.
