a) Job Purpose
The job holder will be responsible for monitoring, analysing debts and support the implementation of the credit control policy.

b) Key Duties and Responsibilities
i. Coordinating credit control activities and manage debts at the airports to ensure efficient debt collection;
ii. Evaluating credit worthiness and negotiate payment plans, per the credit policy, by debtors and make necessary recommendations to management;
iii. Participating in credit control activities and manage debts at the airport to ensure efficient debt collection;
iv. Reviewing outstanding debts to identify bad and doubtful debts and propose remedial action;
v. Evaluating and negotiating payment plans by debtors and make necessary recommendations to management;
vi. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the credit management function;
vii. Maintaining relationships with airlines, tenants, concessionaires, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth debt collection exercise;
viii. Assessing credit worthiness of prospective credit customers and advise management;
ix. Analyzing outstanding debts to identify bad and doubtful debts and propose remedial action to management;
x. Preparing operational strategies for efficient debtors’ management;
xi. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the credit management function; and
xii. Implementing operational strategies for efficient debtors’ management.

c) Key Qualifications and Experience
i. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from a recognized institution of higher learning
ii. Master’s degree is desirable
iii. Professional qualifications in Finance or Accounting, CPA(K) or equivalent qualification
iv. Member of Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (ICPAK) or related professional body and in good standing
v. Minimum period of eight (8) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which must be in a managerial/supervisory position
vi. Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
vii. Proficiency in computer applications

d) Skills and Competencies
Teamwork, good communication, interpersonal, supervisory and analytical skills

Terms and Conditions of Service
Permanent and pensionable terms as per the provisions of the Authority’s Human Resource Policy and Procedures Manual.

(iv) Clearance from the Ethics & Anti-corruption Authority (EACC)
(v) Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

The clearance certificates should be valid and current. The self-declaration Form from EACC should indicate the respective position that is being applied for.
