MANAGER, MAINTENANCE AND STANDARDS ( JOB GRADE S8)REF: P&ES/MMS/ FEBRUARY 2025

a) Job Purpose
The job holder will be responsible for providing oversight in management of overall airports maintenance processes, ensure uniformity and standardization in the implementation of the organizations maintenance policy, compliance with all local and international standards.
b) Key Duties and Responsibilities
i. Developing and updating of Authority’s maintenance policies and strategies in line with the Authority’s vision and strategic objective;
ii. Establishing Authority’s maintenance standards for airport assets (civil, electro-mechanical, building and electrical) with requirements of KAA, KCAA, ICAO and other international and national regulatory authorities/agencies;
iii. Implementing the Authority’s asset maintenance management system;
iv. Enforcing maintenance standards, procedures, protocols in accordance with industry regulation, manufacturer specifications and best practices;
v. Implementing comprehensive maintenance programs for all KAA’s infrastructure, assets and facilities;
vi. Overseeing the implementation of maintenance programs within all airports and airstrips;
vii. Leading the planning, prioritizing and budgeting of the maintenance programs;
viii. Preparing of design specifications, project management and contract administration;
ix. Collaborating with other departments, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with safety, environmental and operational standards; and
x. Establishing a monitoring and evaluation framework for KAA’s maintenance programs.
c) Key Qualifications and Experience
i. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or a related field from a recognized institution of higher learning
ii. Master’s Degree in Civil, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or a related field from a recognized institution of higher learning
iii. Minimum of ten (10) years relevant work experience three (3) years of which should be in a managerial/supervisory position
iv. Professional registration with Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS) Kenya or equivalent
v. Member of Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), ASK, PMP, or related professional body
vi. Postgraduate qualifications in airport engineering/ planning is an added advantage
vii. Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
viii. Proficiency in Computer applications
d) Skills and Competencies
Risk management, coaching, people management, good communication skills, analytical, problem solving & decision-making skills.
Terms and Conditions of Service
Permanent and pensionable terms as per the provisions of the Authority’s Human Resource Policy and Procedures Manual.

(iv) Clearance from the Ethics & Anti-corruption Authority (EACC)
(v) Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
The clearance certificates should be valid and current. The self-declaration Form from EACC should indicate the respective position that is being applied for.
