Kenya Airports Authority Showcases Excellence at 2025 Eldoret ASK Show

Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) proudly participated in the 2025 Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Show in Eldoret, showcasing its pivotal role in supporting Kenya’s aviation and agricultural sectors. The event provided a platform for KAA to engage with stakeholders, highlight its achievements, and share future plans for enhancing airport operations and infrastructure.
The KAA exhibition stand was honored by the visit of Hon. Caleb Kositany, Chairman of the Board of Directors, who welcomed distinguished guests, including Dr. Paul Kipronoh Ronoh, Permanent Secretary, State Department of Agriculture, and H.E. Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim, EGH, Governor of Uasin Gishu County. Their presence underscored the importance of Eldoret International Airport as a key driver of agricultural trade and economic growth in the region.
During the event, the KAA team presented ongoing and future projects aimed at enhancing cargo-handling capacity at Eldoret International Airport. These include infrastructure upgrades such as expanded cold storage facilities and improved cargo terminals to support the export of fresh produce. These initiatives align with Kenya’s vision to strengthen agricultural value chains, boost international trade, and position Eldoret as a strategic hub for agro-based exports.
Eldoret International Airport plays a critical role in facilitating the export of high-value agricultural products such as fruits, vegetables, and flowers to global markets. The planned developments will not only improve efficiency but also provide farmers and agribusinesses with direct access to international buyers, reducing logistical challenges and enhancing competitiveness.
In addition to its focus on trade facilitation, KAA showcased its expertise in safety through live demonstrations of fire fighting and rescue operations. These demonstrations highlighted KAA’s dedication to maintaining world-class safety standards across all its airports.
Mr. Abram Kiprutto, General Manager of Marketing and Business Development, alongside Mr. Charles Kionga, Regional Airport Manager, engaged stakeholders on KAA’s initiatives to improve operational efficiency and foster partnerships that drive growth in the aviation sector.
KAA’s participation at the ASK Show reinforced its commitment to positioning Eldoret International Airport as a key hub for trade and investment in East Africa. The airport’s strategic location in Kenya’s North Rift region makes it an essential gateway for connecting local farmers to global markets while supporting regional economic development.
Through continuous investment in infrastructure upgrades and stakeholder engagement, KAA remains dedicated to enhancing airport operations that support Kenya’s economic ambitions.
The 2025 ASK Show provided an excellent opportunity for KAA to demonstrate its role as a catalyst for growth in both aviation and agriculture. By fostering partnerships and investing in innovative solutions, KAA continues to drive Kenya’s vision of becoming a global leader in trade, tourism, and sustainable development.
